Get Involved: Join SAFE!

SAFE's work is only possible through the support and participation of our supporters. No matter who you are, how old you are, or where you live, we have ways you can help. Please join SAFE and our community partners in making pregnancy, birth, and childhood safer experiences in Uganda.

Volunteer for SAFE (Professionals and Families)

SAFE relies on volunteers both in the U.S./U.K., and in Uganda.

In the U.S., volunteers host fundraisers and educational events, take volunteer positions with our team, and share about our work with others.

In Uganda, we hosts professionals, families, and students, each of whom brings vital knowledge, skills, and resources to our work. Although students are asked to utilize our internship program (with a minimum 4 week in-country commitment), SAFE accepts professionals and families to come for shorter lengths of time.  Examples of projects that professionals and their families may work to complete include planning and documenting a health fair, planning and implementing a medical camp for a particular type of medical service, conducting specialized training, taking photographs and interviewing SAFE beneficiaries, working with SAFE students or the families of SAFE staff and volunteers, and more. We work hard to create a tailored experience that leverages your interests/availability, with the needs of our communities and partners.
